Bob was married 3 times and had 2 children. He was a father of a child who he had from a relationship he had as a teenager. He also has a son, Robert Stephen "Steve" Ross, with his 1st wife, Vivian Ridge. The couple's marriage ended in divorce in 1977. Vivan died shortly after the divorce. Then, Bob married Jane, and they had no children together. In 1992, Jane died of cancer. In 1995, Bob married for a third time to Lynda Brown, just 2 months before his death.
